Diaries and Reminiscences of deportees and political prisoners of the year 1941" are presented extracts from diaries of deportees of the year 1941 Teodora Akvilina Bliūdžiuvienė, Akvilė Petronėlė Bliūdžiūtė, Dalia Grinkevičiūtė, Danutė Adelė Markevičiūtė, Jonas Tallat-Kelpša, Stasys Tallat-Kelpša, Algimantas Katilius, Kazimiera Narbutienė and the diaries and fragments from them of political prisoners Aleksandras Stulginskis and Juozas Duoblys. People's personal experiences, which were written in diaries and memories, reveal the shocking daily life of people deported or imprisoned in hard labour camps in 1941: gradual deterioration of living conditions, aimless exhaustion of physical work, constant lack of food, exhaustion of physical exertion, distraction between hope and despair, the transition of some to passive resignation, the desire of others to fight and not to give up. Survived diaries and memoirs of deportees and political prisoners of the year 1941 are the primary source and factual evidence of the extermination of innocent people by the occupying power.
